Phase I/II, Remediation, Reclamation
PHASE I:
Our Phase I investigation is extremely thorough, reviewing
all available information. No rock is left unturned! The end
product is clear, comprehensive and meets all government regulatory
guidelines.
- Surface Land file review
- Drilling waste Disposal Review
- ERCB Documents and Spill Searches
- Aerial Photo Review
- Site Inspections with photos
- Stakeholder Interviews
- Area Operators
- Land Owners
- Occupants
- Alberta Environment
Phase I Reporting comes complete with annotated aerial photographs, and annotated site
photographs, illustrating the historical and current site condition and potential
areas of concern.
BLUE RIDGE utilizes an All-Terrain Ground Sampler for their
Environmental Assessments. The sampler produces accurate undisturbed
soil profiles that are easy to measure, describe and extract,
even in frozen ground.
PHASE II:
The Phase II is an intrusive examination of the soil profile with
respects to soil chemistry and potential impact. Borehole locations are
mapped, soil cores are logged and samples are selected for analysis.
Accurate pre-planning is an essential component of a Phase
II. Using Phase I data, completing a Ground Disturbance, notifying
stakeholders and coordinating contractors to the site are
a part of any good planning.
REMEDIATION:
Based on historical information and previous ESAs,
remediation may be required to address the known impacts on site.
BLUE RIDGE is able to successfully complete remediation techniques such as:
- In-situ or Ex-situ Treatment
- Continued Monitoring
- Bio-piling of Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soil
- Landfarm Treatment
- Volatilization
- Landfill Treatment
SURFACE RECLAMTION:
Surface reclamation is the final stage for disturbed areas.
BLUE RUDGE is well equipped with the knowledge and tools required to do
the job right. We specialize in soil and vegetative restoration and improvement,
and are well versed in the required Reclamation Criteria for all land types in
Alberta and Saskatchewan. Surface contours, native vegetative species,
topography and soil textures are all part of the final product,
and we ensure that all sites are restored to their predisturbance condition.
BLUE RIDGE field staff are competent in completing thorough final site assessments,
and our in house reporting staff is able to successfully portray the site condition to
the necessary regulatory body, as well as vested stakeholders. Since 2009, BLUE RIDGE
has successfully reclaimed and certified approximately 40 well locations.
